Mochicream, Mitsuwa Marketplace, San Jose, CA
I really don’t want to admit how much I love these little round balls. But I do. They are so soft, so smooth and so very addicting.
At about $2.00 each (price varies depending on the flavor), these cream filled mochi are crafted with utmost care. They are not your conventional ice cream mochi. These bold colorful balls of happiness are made with whipped cream, flavored bean paste and various ingredients. Every single one has the perfect form, shape and filling ratio. Indecisive first timers might have a tough time figuring out what to get. There are so many flavors to choose from. Do take your time as it is rather important to pick something to your liking. Some likes fruity ones such as double mango and rasberry mille-feuille. Those who perfer Asian style wagashi might find sakura interesting. My personal favorite? Rum raisin for sure. Black sesame is a close second.
Resist the urge to get one of each since these goodies are best consumed within a day. You can always come back for more (and trust me you will).
